Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الْبُزَاقُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهَا دَفْنُهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Qutaybah told us: Abu Awanah told us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is to bury it.” Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih.
