Muhammad ibn Bashshar told us: Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Wazir al-Basri, who is trustworthy, told us: Muhammad ibn Musa told us, from Sad ibn Ishaq ibn Kab ibn Ujrah, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the sunset prayer in the mosque of Banu Abd al-Ashhal. Some people stood to perform voluntary prayers, and the Prophet said: “You should perform this prayer in your homes.” Abu Isa said: This report from Kab ibn Ujrah is gharib; we know it only through this route. The sound report is what is narrated from Ibn Umar: The Prophet used to pray the two units after sunset prayer in his house. Abu Isa said: It is also narrated from Hudhayfah that the Prophet prayed the sunset prayer and continued praying in the mosque until he prayed the later night prayer. This report indicates that the Prophet prayed the two units after sunset prayer in the mosque.
