Abu Isa said: Muhammad ibn Bashshar said: I asked Yahya ibn Said about this hadith, and he narrated to me from Shubah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, from Salih ibn Khawwat, from Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a report like that of Yahya ibn Said al-Ansari. Yahya told me, “Write it alongside the other report. I do not have the hadith memorized, but it is like the report of Yahya ibn Said al-Ansari.” Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih. Yahya ibn Said al-Ansari did not attribute it as a Prophetic report from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad; the companions of Yahya ibn Said likewise narrated it as a statement of a Companion. Shubah attributed it to the Prophet through Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim ibn Muhammad.
