Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَمَرَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ سُفْيَانُ قَوْلُهُ " بِبِنَاءِ الْمَسَاجِدِ فِي الدُّورِ " . يَعْنِي الْقَبَائِلَ .

Ibn Abi Umar told us: Sufyan ibn Uyaynah told us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave a command and mentioned a report similar to the preceding one. Sufyan explained the phrase “building mosques in residential neighborhoods” as meaning among the tribes.
