Abu Ammar al-Husayn ibn Hurayth told us: Sufyan ibn Uyaynah told us, from Dawud, from al-Shabi, from Jarir, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with a similar report. Abu Isa said: The report of Dawud from al-Shabi is sounder than the report of Mujalid. Some scholars considered Mujalid weak; he made many mistakes.
