حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بُجَيْدٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ بُجَيْدٍ، - وَكَانَتْ مِمَّنْ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم - أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ لَيَقُومُ عَلَى بَابِي فَمَا أَجِدُ لَهُ شَيْئًا أُعْطِيهِ إِيَّاهُ . فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنْ لَمْ تَجِدِي شَيْئًا تُعْطِينَهُ إِيَّاهُ إِلاَّ ظِلْفًا مُحْرَقًا فَادْفَعِيهِ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَدِهِ " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أُمِّ بُجَيْدٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Qutaybah told us: al-Layth ibn Sad told us, from Said ibn Abi Said, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Bujayd, from his grandmother Umm Bujayd, who was among those who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. She said: Messenger of Allah, a poor person stands at my door, but I have nothing to give him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her: ‘If you can find nothing to give him except a burnt hoof, then place it in his hand.’ Related reports are narrated from Ali, Husayn ibn Ali, Abu Hurayrah, and Abu Umamah. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Umm Bujayd is hasan sahih.
