Regarding the recommendation for holding a wedding feast
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ ذُكِرَ تَزْوِيجُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ عِنْدَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلمأَوْلَمَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ مَا أَوْلَمَ عَلَيْهَا أَوْلَمَ بِشَاةٍ .
Translation
Thabit said
The marriage of Zainab bint Jahsh was mentioned in the presence of Anas ibn Malik, and he said: "I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) hold a wedding feast for any of his wives like the feast he held for her; he provided a feast with a sheep."
