Sunan Abi Dawud 3817

Harun ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us: al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us: ʿUqbah ibn Wahb ibn ʿUqbah al-ʿAmiri said: I heard my father narrate from al-Fujayʿ al-ʿAmiri, who came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked: “What carrion is lawful for us?” He said: “What is your food?” We replied: “We have a drink in the evening and a drink in the morning.” Abu Nuʿaym said: ʿUqbah explained this to me as a cup in the morning and a cup in the evening. The Prophet ﷺ said: “That, by my father, is hunger.” So he made carrion lawful for them in that condition. Abu Dawud said: The evening drink is at the end of the day, and the morning drink is at the beginning of the day.
