حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ لاَ تَكْشِفْ فَخِذَكَ وَلاَ تَنْظُرْ إِلَى فَخِذِ حَىٍّ وَلاَ مَيِّتٍ ‏" ‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِيهِ نَكَارَةٌ ‏.‏

Translation

ʿAli ibn Sahl al-Ramli narrated to us: Hajjaj narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: I was informed, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from ʿAsim ibn Damrah, from ʿAli, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Do not uncover your thigh, and do not look at the thigh of anyone living or dead.’ Abu Dawud said: This hadith contains something objectionable.
