Translation
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar
That Ibn Umar taught him that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) settled upon his camel, setting out on a journey, he would declare the greatness of Allah three times, then say:
Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed, to our Lord we will return.O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and of the deeds that which You are pleased with. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and roll up for us its distance. O Allah, You are the Companion in travel and the Khalifa over family and wealth. And when he returned, he would say them and add to them: Returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord. And the Prophet (ﷺ) and his armies, when they ascended an elevation, they would say the takbir, and when they descended, they would say the tasbih, so the prayer was established upon that.
