Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رضى الله عنها قَالَتْ كَانَ يُؤْمَرُ الْعَائِنُ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ الْمَعِينُ .
Translation
ʿUthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us: Jarir narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from ʿAishah, may Allah be pleased with her, who said: The person who cast the evil eye would be instructed to perform ablution, then the person affected would wash with that water.
