Musa ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us: Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach them words to say in times of fright: “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger, the evil of His servants, the promptings of the devils, and their presence.” ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAmr used to teach these words to whichever of his children understood them; for those who did not, he wrote them down and hung them on the child.
