Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَقِيلُ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ النُّشْرَةِ فَقَالَ " هُوَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ " .
Translation
Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Razzaq narrated to us: ʿAqil ibn Maʿqil narrated to us, who said: I heard Wahb ibn Munabbih narrate from Jabir ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about nushrah, a treatment for undoing magic, and replied: “It is among the works of Satan.”
