Sunan Abi Dawud 1205
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حَمْزَةُ الْعَائِذِيُّ، - رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي ضَبَّةَ - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا نَزَلَ مَنْزِلاً لَمْ يَرْتَحِلْ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ الظُّهْرَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ قَالَ وَإِنْ كَانَ بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ .
Translation
Musaddad narrated to us: Yahya narrated to us, from Shuʿbah. Hamzah al-ʿAʾidhi—a man from Banu Dabbah—narrated to me: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: ‘When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stopped at a place, he would not depart until he had prayed the noon prayer.’ A man asked him: ‘Even if it is midday?’ He replied: ‘Even if it is midday.’
