Concerning The Woman Who Has Istihadah, And (Those Scholars) Who Stated That She Should Leave The Prayer For The Number Of Days Which She Used To Menstruate Sunan Abi Dawud 274

Translation
Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin

Abdullah ibn Maslamah narrated to us, from Malik, from Nafi, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), that a woman used to suffer from prolonged bleeding (Istihadah) during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Umm Salamah asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) for a ruling concerning her, and he said: "Let her look at the number of nights and days she used to menstruate each month before she was afflicted with this condition, and let her omit the prayer for that duration of the month. When that period has passed, let her take a bath, then bind a cloth around herself, and then pray."
