حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، - وَهَذَا لَفْظُ حَفْصٍ - عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سُبَاطَةَ قَوْمٍفَبَالَ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ‏.‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ فَذَهَبْتُ أَتَبَاعَدُ فَدَعَانِي حَتَّى كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عَقِبِهِ

Narrated Hudhaifah

Hafs bin Umar and Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated to us, both saying: Shu'bah narrated to us. And (via another chain) Musaddad narrated to us: Abu Awanah narrated to us - and this is the wording of Hafs - from Sulayman, from Abu Wail, from Hudhayfah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to the garbage dump of some people and urinated while standing. Then he asked for water and wiped over his leather socks. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad said: So I went away to distance myself, but he called me until I was at his heel.
