Translation
Narrated Abu Burdah
Musaddad and Sulaiman bin Dawud al-Ataki narrated to us, both saying: Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, from Ghailan bin Jarir, from Abu Burdah, from his father, who said: Musaddad said: We came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asking him for a mount, and I saw him using the tooth-stick on his tongue. Abu Dawud said: And Sulaiman said: I entered upon the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was using the tooth-stick, and he had placed the tooth-stick on the tip of his tongue while saying, "Ih, ih," meaning he was retching. Abu Dawud said: Musaddad said: It was a long hadith, so I abridged it.
