What A Person Should Say When He Enters The Area Wherein He Relieves Himself Sunan Abi Dawud 6
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحُشُوشَ مُحْتَضَرَةٌ فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَلاَءَ فَلْيَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ " .
Translation
Narrated Zayd ibn Arqam
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "These privies are attended, so when any of you enters the lavatory, let him say: I seek refuge in Allah from the male and female devils (or: from wicked spirits and wickedness)."
