حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَلاَ يَرْقُدُ مِنْ لَيْلٍ وَلاَ نَهَارٍ فَيَسْتَيْقِظُ إِلاَّ تَسَوَّكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ ‏.‏

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin

Narrated to us Muhammad bin Kathir, narrated to us Hammam, from Ali bin Zayd, from Umm Muhammad, from Aisha, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) never woke up from sleep at night or during the day without using the Miswak (tooth-stick) before performing ablution.
