حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السُّلَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَىٍّ الْمُؤَذِّنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ وَهُوَ حَقِنٌ حَتَّى يَتَخَفَّفَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ سَاقَ نَحْوَهُ عَلَى هَذَا اللَّفْظِ قَالَ ‏"‏ وَلاَ يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ قَوْمًا إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِمْ وَلاَ يَخْتَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِدَعْوَةٍ دُونَهُمْ فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ خَانَهُمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هَذَا مِنْ سُنَنِ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ لَمْ يَشْرَكْهُمْ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ

Narrated AbuHurayrah

Mahmud ibn Khalid al-Sulami narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ali narrated to us, Thawr narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Shurayh al-Hadrami, from Abu Hayy the mu'adhdhin, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said: "It is not lawful for a man who believes in Allah and the Last Day to pray while he is holding back his urine until he relieves himself." Then he cited a similar report with this wording: "And it is not lawful for a man who believes in Allah and the Last Day to lead a people in prayer except with their permission, nor should he single himself out with a supplication to the exclusion of them; if he does that, he has betrayed them." Abu Dawud said: This is from the traditions of the people of ash-Sham; no one shared with them in it.
