حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، وَمُسَدَّدٌ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلميَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهُ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْقَذَالَ - وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ الْقَفَا -وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ مُقَدَّمِهِ إِلَى مُؤَخَّرِهِ حَتَّى أَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ أُذُنَيْهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ يَحْيَى فَأَنْكَرَهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَسَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ يَقُولُ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ زَعَمُوا كَانَ يُنْكِرُهُ وَيَقُولُ أَيْشِ هَذَا طَلْحَةُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

Narrated Talhah ibn Musarrif

Muhammad bin Isa and Musaddad narrated to us, both saying: Abdul Warith narrated to us, from Laith, from Talhah bin Musarrif, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wiping his head once until he reached the qadhal - which is the beginning of the nape. Musaddad said: And he wiped his head from the front to the back until he brought his hands out from beneath his ears. Musaddad said: So I narrated it to Yahya and he rejected it. Abu Dawud said: I heard Ahmad saying: They claimed that Ibn Uyainah used to reject it and say: What is this (chain): Talhah, from his father, from his grandfather?
