حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، وَذَكَرَ، وُضُوءَ النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلميَمْسَحُ الْمَأْقَيْنِ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ الأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ يَقُولُهَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ لاَ أَدْرِي هُوَ مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوْ مِنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي قِصَّةَ الأُذُنَيْنِ ‏.‏ قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ سِنَانٍ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ رَبِيعَةَ كُنْيَتُهُ أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ

Narrated AbuUmamah

Sulaiman bin Harb narrated to us: Hammad narrated to us, and through a separate chain, Musaddad and Qutaibah narrated to us, from Hammad bin Zaid, from Sinan bin Rabi'ah, from Shahr bin Haushab, from Abu Umamah, and he mentioned the ablution of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to wipe the outer corners of his eyes. And he said: "The ears are from the head." Sulaiman bin Harb said: Abu Umamah states it. Qutaibah said: Hammad said: I do not know whether it is from the saying of the Prophet (ﷺ) or from Abu Umamah—meaning the report of the two ears. Qutaibah said: From Sinan, Abu Rabi'ah. Abu Dawud said: He is the son of Rabi'ah, and his Kunyah is Abu Rabi'ah.
