Narrated Thawban
Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal narrated to us: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Thawr, from Rashid ibn Sa'd, from Thawban, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent out a military expedition, and they were affected by the extreme cold. When they came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), he commanded them to wipe over their turbans and stockings.
