حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شُغِلَ عَنْهَا لَيْلَةً فَأَخَّرَهَا حَتَّى رَقَدْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ ‏"‏لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرَكُمْ ‏"

‘Abd Allah b. ‘Umar said

Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal narrated to us: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us: Nafi informed me: Abdullah ibn Umar narrated to me that one night the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was preoccupied and thus delayed it, until we fell asleep in the mosque. Then we woke up, then we fell asleep, then we woke up, then we fell asleep. Then he came out to us and said: "No one other than you is waiting for the prayer."
