حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حَدِيثٍ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْمِقْدَادِ ‏.‏ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ وَجَمَاعَةٌ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَرَوَاهُ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَمْ يَذْكُرْ ‏"‏ أُنْثَيَيْهِ

‘Urwah reported on the Authority of his father a tradition from ‘Ali b. Abi Talib who said

Abdullah bin Maslamah al-Qa'nabi narrated to us: My father narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, regarding a tradition he narrated to him from Ali bin Abi Talib, who said: I asked Al-Miqdad - and he mentioned its meaning.

Abu Dawud said: Al-Mufaddal bin Fadhalah, a group [of narrators], Al-Thawri, and Ibn Uyaynah narrated it from Hisham, from his father, from Ali bin Abi Talib. And Ibn Ishaq narrated it from Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, from Al-Miqdad, from the Prophet (ﷺ), without mentioning "his two testicles."
