حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ أَوْ يَنَامَ تَوَضَّأَ ‏.‏ تَعْنِي وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ‏.‏

‘A’ishah reported

When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wanted to eat or sleep, he would perform ablution, meaning while he was in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity).
