Uthman bin Abi Shaibah narrated to us: Yazid bin Harun narrated to us: Hammad bin Salamah informed us, with his isnad and its meaning. He said at its beginning: "So he made takbir." And he said at its end: "When he finished the prayer, he said: 'Indeed, I am only a human being, and indeed I was in a state of janabah.'"
Abu Dawud said: Al-Zuhri narrated it from Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Hurairah, who said: "When he stood at his place of prayer, and we waited for him to make takbir, he turned away, then said: 'Remain as you are.'"
Abu Dawud said: Ayyub, Ibn Awn, and Hisham narrated it from Muhammad as mursal from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: "So he made takbir, then gestured with his hand to the people to sit down, and he went and took a bath."
And likewise Malik narrated it from Ismail bin Abi Hakim, from Ata bin Yasar, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, made takbir in a prayer.
Abu Dawud said: And likewise Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated it to us: Aban narrated to us, from Yahya, from al-Rabi bin Muhammad, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he made takbir.
