حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، - وَكَانَ رَجُلَ صِدْقٍ - عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْنَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالأُذُنَيْنِ وَلاَ نُضَحِّيَ بِعَوْرَاءَ وَلاَ مُقَابَلَةٍ وَلاَ مُدَابَرَةٍ وَلاَ خَرْقَاءَ وَلاَ شَرْقَاءَ . قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي إِسْحَاقَ أَذَكَرَ عَضْبَاءَ قَالَ لاَ . قُلْتُ فَمَا الْمُقَابَلَةُ قَالَ يُقْطَعُ طَرَفُ الأُذُنِ . قُلْتُ فَمَا الْمُدَابَرَةُ قَالَ يُقْطَعُ مِنْ مُؤَخَّرِ الأُذُنِ . قُلْتُ فَمَا الشَّرْقَاءُ قَالَ تُشَقُّ الأُذُنُ . قُلْتُ فَمَا الْخَرْقَاءُ قَالَ تُخْرَقُ أُذُنُهَا لِلسِّمَةِ
Translation
Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib
Ali reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to examine carefully the eye and the ear, and that we should not sacrifice an animal with a missing eye, nor a Muqabalah, nor a Mudabarah, nor a Kharqa, nor a Sharqa. Zuhayr said: I asked Abu Ishaq: Did he mention an 'Adba' (an animal with a slit ear)? He said: No. I said: What is the Muqabalah? He said: The tip of the ear is cut off. I said: What is the Mudabarah? He said: A part is cut from the back of the ear. I said: What is the Sharqa? He said: The ear is split. I said: What is the Kharqa? He said: Its ear is pierced round.
