What Has Been Related About It Being Disliked To Cause Harm With The Will Sunan Abi Dawud 2867
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُدَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَشْعَثُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ "إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ وَالْمَرْأَةَ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً ثُمَّ يَحْضُرُهُمَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُضَارَّانِ فِي الْوَصِيَّةِ فَتَجِبُ لَهُمَا النَّارُ " . قَالَ وَقَرَأَ عَلَىَّ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مِنْ هَا هُنَا { مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصَى بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ غَيْرَ مُضَارٍّ } حَتَّى بَلَغَ { ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ } .قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هَذَا - يَعْنِي الأَشْعَثَ بْنَ جَابِرٍ - جَدُّ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
Translation
Narrated AbuHurayrah
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, a man and a woman act in obedience to Allah for sixty years, then death approaches them and they cause harm regarding the will, so the Fire becomes obligatory for them."
He said: And Abu Hurayrah recited to us from here:
"...after [the execution of] any bequest which was bequeathed or [payment of] a debt, without causing harm..."until he reached:
"...that is the great attainment."
Abu Dawud said: This—meaning Al-Ash'ath ibn Jabir—is the grandfather of Nasr ibn 'Ali.
