Muhammad ibn Sallam related to us, saying: al-Fazari related to us, saying: Qinan ibn ‘Abdullah related to us, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awsaja, from al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Whoever lends a milch animal, or guides someone through an alley—or, he said, a road—will have a reward equivalent to freeing a person.”

A manihah is traditionally a milch animal lent for its milk; its exact intended scope here may merit lexical review.
مَنْ مَنَحَ مَنِيحَةً
The term manihah may specifically mean lending a milch animal for its milk, rather than giving a generic gift.
Should this be rendered as lending a milch animal?
