حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: الْكَبَائِرُ سَبْعٌ، أَوَّلُهُنَّ: الإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ، وَرَمْيُ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ، وَالأعْرَابِيَّةُ بَعْدَ الْهِجْرَةِ.

Musa ibn Isma‘il related to us: Abu ‘Awanah related to us, from ‘Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “The major sins are seven. The first of them are associating partners with Allah, taking a life, accusing chaste women of adultery, and returning to Bedouin life after the Hijrah.”
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic says there are seven major sins but names only four here. The wording الأعْرَابِيَّةُ بعد الهجرة literally refers to Bedouinism after the Hijrah, here rendered as returning to Bedouin life after migration.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: الْكَبَائِرُ سَبْعٌ،
The report states the total as seven but this excerpt lists four.
Should a note explicitly mention that this excerpt names only four of the seven?
