حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلأَشَجِّ أَشَجِّ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ: إِنَّ فِيكَ لَخَصْلَتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللَّهُ: الْحِلْمُ وَالأنَاةُ.

‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab related to us: Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal informed us: Qurrah related to us, from Abu Jamrah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to al-Ashajj, al-Ashajj of ‘Abd al-Qays: “You possess two qualities that Allah loves: forbearance and deliberation.”
