Ali ibn Abi Hashim narrated to us. He said: Nusayr ibn Umar ibn Yazid ibn Qabisa ibn Yazid al-Asadi narrated to me, from so-and-so, who said: I heard Burma ibn Layth ibn Burma say that he heard Qabisa ibn Burma al-Asadi say: I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and heard him say: ‘Those who do good in this world are the people of good in the Hereafter, and those who do evil in this world are the people of evil in the Hereafter.’
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The chain itself says ‘from so-and-so’ (fulan), leaving that transmitter unnamed; the translation preserves the gap rather than supplying a name.
The Arabic leaves one transmitter unidentified as ‘so-and-so.’
Should the unspecified transmitter remain as an explicit gap in the published translation?
Ma‘ruf and munkar are broad terms that can refer to recognized good and rejected wrongdoing; the concise wording preserves the contrast.
Should these terms receive a more specific ethical gloss in a later editorial review?
