Sahih al-Bukhari 23
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىَّ، وَعَلَيْهِمْ قُمُصٌ مِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ الثُّدِيَّ، وَمِنْهَا مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ، وَعُرِضَ عَلَىَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَعَلَيْهِ قَمِيصٌ يَجُرُّهُ ". قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " الدِّينَ ".

Muhammad ibn Ubaydullah narrated to us. He said: Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Umama ibn Sahl, who heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘While I was asleep, I saw people being shown to me. They wore shirts: some reached up to the breasts, and some were shorter than that. Umar ibn al-Khattab was shown to me wearing a shirt that he was dragging.’ They asked: ‘How do you interpret that, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied: ‘Religion.’
