Translation

Muhammad narrated to us; Abu Mu'awiyah informed us, from Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani, from al-Sha'bi, from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: A man whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to visit died during the night, and they buried him that night. When morning came, they told him. He said: ‘What prevented you from informing me?’ They said: ‘It was night—and dark—and we disliked causing you hardship.’ He went to the man's grave and prayed over him.
