Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، وَزَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ، رضى الله عنهما عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِذَا زَنَتِ الأَمَةُ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِذَا زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِذَا زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ ".
Translation
Abu Hurayra and Zayd ibn Khalid reported that the Prophet said: “If an enslaved woman commits adultery, flog her. If she does so again, flog her. If she does so a third or fourth time, sell her, even for a rope of hair.”
