Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā narrated to me: Hishām informed us, from Maʿmar, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her): “During the illness in which he died, the Prophet ﷺ would recite the protective chapters and blow over himself. When his illness became severe, I would recite them and blow over him, and wipe him with his own hand, seeking its blessing.” I asked al-Zuhrī, “How would he blow?” He said, “He would blow over his hands, then wipe his face with them.”
