ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us; he said: Mūsā ibn Abī ʿĀʾishah narrated to me, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from Ibn ʿAbbās and ʿĀʾishah: “Abū Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) kissed the Prophet ﷺ when he had died.”

ʿĀʾishah said: “During his illness, we administered medicine to him through the side of his mouth. He began gesturing to us not to do so, but we said, ‘A sick person dislikes medicine.’ When he came to, he said, ‘Did I not forbid you from giving me medicine that way?’ We said, ‘We thought it was because a sick person dislikes medicine.’ He said, ‘Let everyone in the house be given it that way while I watch, except al-ʿAbbās, for he was not present with you.’”
