Sahih al-Bukhari 4006
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، سَمِعَ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ الْبَدْرِيَّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ صَدَقَةٌ ".
Translation
Muslim narrated to us: Shuʿba narrated to us, from ʿAdi, from ʿAbdullah ibn Yazid, who heard Abu Masʿud al-Badri, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said, “A man’s spending on his family is charity.”
