“…but Allah was their Wali.”
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شَدَّادٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ مَا سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلميَجْمَعُ أَبَوَيْهِ لأَحَدٍ غَيْرَ سَعْدٍ
Translation
Narrated `Ali
I have never heard the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioning both his father and mother for anybody other than Sa`d.
