Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ اعْتَمَرَ فَطَافَ فَطُفْنَا مَعَهُ، وَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ، وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، فَكُنَّا نَسْتُرُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، لاَ يُصِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ بِشَىْءٍ.
Translation
We were with the Prophet when he performed ʿumra. He circumambulated, and we circumambulated with him; he prayed, and we prayed with him; and he made Saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwa. We shielded him from the people of Mecca so that no one could harm him.
