Arabic hadith text
وَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ، يَقُولُ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ، وَخَرَجْتُ فِيمَا يَبْعَثُ مِنَ الْبَعْثِ تِسْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ، عَلَيْنَا مَرَّةً أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَمَرَّةً أُسَامَةُ.
Translation
Umar ibn Hafs ibn Ghiyath related from his father, from Yazid ibn Abi Ubayd, who said he heard Salama say: “I fought alongside the Prophet in seven campaigns and went out with the forces he dispatched on nine expeditions. Abu Bakr commanded us on one occasion, and Usama on another.”
