Abu Ishaq said: “Al-Bara was asked while I was listening, ‘Did you flee with the Prophet on the day of Hunayn?’ He replied, ‘As for the Prophet, no. They were archers.’ The Prophet was saying: ‘I am the Prophet—there is no lie in it. I am the son of Abd al-Muttalib.’”

This wording says simply that the opposing force were archers; it does not repeat the preceding report about the hasty group rushing off.
