حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَا فِي بَيْتِي مِنْ شَىْءٍ يَأْكُلُهُ ذُو كَبِدٍ، إِلاَّ شَطْرُ شَعِيرٍ فِي رَفٍّ لِي، فَأَكَلْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى طَالَ عَلَىَّ، فَكِلْتُهُ فَفَنِيَ.
Translation
ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us: Abu Usama narrated to us: Hisham narrated to us, from his father, from ʿAʾisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died when there was nothing in my home that a living creature could eat except half a measure of barley on my shelf. I ate from it until a long time had passed for me; then I measured it, and it was used up.
