Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ ارْتَقَيْتُ فَوْقَ بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ، فَرَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ، مُسْتَدْبِرَ الْقِبْلَةِ، مُسْتَقْبِلَ الشَّأْمِ.
Translation
Ibrahim ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us: Anas ibn ʿIyad narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allah, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Wasiʿ ibn Habban, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I climbed onto the roof of Hafsa’s house and saw the Prophet (ﷺ) relieving himself, with his back toward the qibla and facing Syria.
