Sahih al-Bukhari 2133
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنِ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا فَلاَ يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ ".
Translation
Abu al-Walid narrated to me: Shuba narrated to us: Abdullah ibn Dinar narrated to us; he said: I heard Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, say that the Prophet said: “Whoever buys food must not sell it until he takes possession of it.”
