Bulugh al-Maram 740
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ - رضى الله عنه - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: { إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَدَعَا لِأَهْلِهَا, وَإِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ اَلْمَدِينَةَ كَمَا حَرَّمَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مَكَّةَ، وَإِنِّي دَعَوْتُ فِي صَاعِهَا وَمُدِّهَا بِمِثْلَيْ 1 مَا دَعَا 2 إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 3 .1 - هذه رواية مسلم، وفي رواية البخاري وأخرى لمسلم " مثل ".2 - زاد مسلم: " به ".3 - صحيح. رواه البخاري ( 2129 )، ومسلم ( 1360 ) واللفظ لمسلم.
‘Abd Allah ibn Zayd ibn ‘Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Indeed, Abraham declared Mecca sacred and supplicated for its people. I have declared Medina sacred, as Abraham declared Mecca sacred, and I have supplicated for its measures of sa‘ and mudd twice as much as Abraham supplicated for the people of Mecca.’ Agreed upon.
1 — This is Muslim’s wording. Al-Bukhari and another version of Muslim have ‘like’. 2 — Muslim added: ‘thereby’. 3 — Sound. Reported by al-Bukhari (2129) and Muslim (1360); the wording is Muslim’s.
