Bulugh al-Maram 755
Arabic hadith text
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { اِسْتَأْذَنَتْ سَوْدَةُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -لَيْلَةَ اَلْمُزْدَلِفَةِ: أَنْ تَدْفَعَ قَبْلَهُ, وَكَانَتْ ثَبِطَةً -تَعْنِي: ثَقِيلَةً- فَأَذِنَ لَهَا } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِمَا 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه البخاري ( 1680 )، ومسلم ( 1290 ).
Translation
‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Sawdah asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), on the night of Muzdalifah, for permission to depart ahead of him. She was a slow-moving woman—meaning physically heavy—and he granted her permission. Agreed upon.
