حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّ ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَتْ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ بِطَعَامٍ فَعُرِضَ عَلَيْنَا فَقُلْنَا لاَ نَشْتَهِيهِ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ تَجْمَعْنَ جُوعًا وَكَذِبًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It wasnarrated that Anas bin Malik – a man from the tribe of Banu‘Abdul-Ashhal – said

* “I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he waseatingbreakfast and he said: ‘Come and eat.’ I said: ‘I amfasting. Alas!Would that I had eaten of the food of the Messenger ofAllah (ﷺ).’”
