حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا صَاعِدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلاَ آتِيكَ بِوَضُوءٍ قَالَ " أُرِيدُ الصَّلاَةَ " .

Jaʿfar ibn Musāfir narrated to us: Ṣāʿid ibn ʿUbayd al-Jazarī narrated to us: Zuhayr ibn Muʿāwiyah narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Juḥādah narrated to us: ʿAmr ibn Dīnār al-Makkī narrated to us, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), that he came out from relieving himself and was brought food. A man said: Messenger of God, shall I bring you water for ablution? He said: I intend to pray.
